Dana Hills Christmas Club

Our last club before we take a break is the Christmas Club. The kids had so much fun! It was an amazing opportunity to talk to them about what Christmas really means. It is cool to see the new kids God brings. All the kids had a blast!

1st Wyldlife Club of 2013

First club of the semester!

I hope everyone had a great holiday break, with Christmas and New Years behind us we are excited to share our first club of the second semester!

We were excited to see we had over 20 kids at club this last week! even with all the sickness and soccer practices and the craziness that is our lives our middle schoolers are making it a point to make it to club! That is soooo exciting for us as leaders and for our ministry because our kids are eager to be together, have fun , be Wild, spend some time with their leaders and most importantly hear the good new about Jesus! I've attached a few photos from some of our games from our last club. It got a little bit crazy haha, hope you enjoy!

Dana Hills Club

Hello! First semester has been going great so far. We have way more kids showing up. (around 20) Our leaders have been wonderful. They are really stepping it up this year. We are trying to focus on the relational part of this ministry, and not just show up for club. It is amazing to watch. A lot of the kids tell me it is the high light of their week. It is a blessing for us leaders to be apart of.

This month I went to a school for kids in treatment for drug addiction. I was able to tell them my story and about Young Life. I have been meeting lots of new kids. I am eagerly praying to see what God does with us leaders. I really see Him doing something amazing.

Winter Camp 2012

Last weekend myself, two leaders and four Capernaum students headed up to Oakbridge for weekend winter camp.  Although we were a small group, that definitely did not stop us from having fun!  From the time we arrived on Friday night until Sunday when we were leaving, we literally did not stop.  From club, to messy games, to a midnight concert, I'd say we pretty much did it all.  We were the only Capernaum group, the rest of the campers were typical younglife students.  It was awesome to see our students interacting with the other high schoolers, and vise versa.  My favorite part about the weekend was seeing one of our students Brett come out of his shell.  For the most part Brett typically keeps to himself, isn't very social, and at club likes to hangout in the corner alone.  This weekend I saw an incredible transformation.  Brett's whole demeanor changed.  He was interacting with people, participating in games, and even sharing during cabin time.  Not only did Brett let loose at camp, but when Brett came to club after we came home, he was no longer sticking to his routine of staying in the corner and not talking to anybody.  The first thing he said to me when he got to club was, "Tayren, I had so much fun at camp!"  After club I was talking to Brett's mom and she told me that Brett has not stopped talking about camp since he got home.  She also shared with me that highrollers is really the first thing in Brett's life that he has ever really cared about and looked forward to.  I couldn't help but think how incredible that was!

I am always in awe of the work God is doing through this ministry.  I'm excited to see what he has in store next!

Blu Gnu 2012

We have another club that is quickly becoming a hit. It's called Blu Gnu! What is Blu Gnu you ask....well let me tell ya. We have friends of Young Life dress up in random costumes around the mall. Then we send the students out with a list of what they are looking for. Once found they get their signature and move on to the next person. The Blu Gnu is someone who is wearing a special blue Young Life t-shirt. Once again we had a huge turn out. I lost count after about 70 people. We were also lucky to have a small group of friends from Huntington Beach YL & South Central YL come and play also. Check out the pictures below

Wyldlife Club

We had an amazing club this last week! We had over 20 kids attend and to say the least it got wild!

We started with a great classic game called the balloon stomp! Basically everyone has a balloon tied to their leg and you have to keep your balloon full of air and "stomp" everyone else's! It was quite the site! Everyone hopping around and screaming and going crazy it was hilarious!

Then we brought it inside and played the old spit popcorn onto your leaders face that is caked with shaving cream, haha it was awesome. Then of course i gave a little talk on the gospels and the good news of Jesus!

Attached are a photo of the game this week!

Thank you for your prayer and support! Have a blessed week!

Wyldlife Winter Camp- 2012

Hello all i hope everyone is enjoying the winter weather!

I'm sending out a little update about our Wyldlife camp we just attended last weekend. Myself and one other leader from our club took 3 boys down for an amazing weekend camp at Oakbridge in Ramona, California.

The camp was full of fun games and awesome time hanging out together and building awesome relationships with these 3 awesome guys! Noah, Andrew, and Jack. To say the least we had an amazing weekend and are all super excited about summer camp which is 5 days long! But most importantly they got to hear the good news about Jesus and we had some awesome talks processing who Jesus is and what he is in our lives!

Its such a joy to get to be apart of these kids lives and walk through these steps of belief and understanding about not only Jesus but who they are and who they want to be and everything in-between.

Attached are a few pictures from the weekend i hope you enjoy! And thanks for all your prayers and support.
